Writings Dedicated to the Innocents Lost

NO MERCY FOR THE INNOCENT

The death toll mounts again

as the bombs reach their destinations

to fall on the guilty

and innocent alike

no division between the two

no mercy for the innocent

no quarter for the guilty

the streets run red with blood

mortar and destroyed homes

no longer livable for those

who escaped the wrath of one

retaliatory gesture

to pay back the lives lost

in a chemical attack

more innocents slaughtered

for the sake of one

how many lives is one worth?

when it slaughters hundreds of thousands

to keep his seat of power?

Would not one bullet suffice

to get rid of that man?

But no, that would be the taking of

another life and so

they let the slaughter continue

The rivers run dry with corpses

strewn about

babies, children, women and men

there is no difference be it chemical or bomb

both actions slaughtered more innocents

and will only serve to escalate

more hatred until its mindless rage

overtakes all

Until nothing is left but the rubble of what once was.
